About the NSES Drama Club Program
The North Stonington Elementary School Drama Club is an after school program open to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. We perform Broadway style shows each year in the spring. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for students to increase their self-confidence through creative expression, self-discipline and teamwork while encouraging a lifelong appreciation of the arts and recognition of the educational power of the theatre. These attributes help contribute to success in the classroom both academically and often behaviorally as children discover talents and skills which can help boost classroom participation.
Whats Happening in 2022-2023
Our Drama Club program is funded solely through fundraisers and donations. Each year we put together a Playbill-style colored program to distribute at each of our performances. If you would like to support our program by purchasing an ad and/or shout out to our amazing cast, please see the form below. We truly appreciate everyone’s support of the theatre arts at the elementary level. Thank you.
Coming in 2023-2024...
A 3rd Grade Drama Enrichment Club has been meeting once a week since the beginning of May. We have been learning drama games, improv, pantomime, and many parts of acting as we start looking towards participating in next year’s play. It has been a lot of fun watching the amazing creativity our young future actors naturally have.
What’s Next in 2023-2024?
We are excited to announce our performance of Disney’s Frozen, Jr. in March 2024. Auditions will be held in September, with rehearsals starting in October. We cannot wait to bring Arendelle to North Stonington!
Also, we will be organizing another Talent Show during the upcoming school year. Currently planning for a holiday-themed show. Watch for more updates!
We hope everyone has a theatre-filled summer of music, live shows and acting!
